Where can I find a person's address?

Private persons' addresses, phone numbers and other contact details are available from the 16500 directory service. Just text the person's phone number, or their name and city, and you'll get a reply within seconds.

The data comes from an up-to-date and reliable contact register, Suomen 16100 Oy.

Does address search work by SMS?

Yes. The 16500 SMS service is a quick and reliable way to find a person's address. By SMS, you always get an answer without signing in or identifying yourself, and even without internet access.

Try it by texting a person's name or phone number to 16500.

Can I find an address by phone number?

Yes. Address search returns the contact details of the person the phone number is registered to. If the number belongs to a company, the search returns the company's details.

An address can't be found by phone number if the number is unlisted, the person has an address protection order or has banned the disclosure or marketing use of their contact details, or the number belongs to an unregistered prepaid subscription.

How do I make my address unlisted?

An address protection order (turvakielto) is granted by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV) and prevents your address from being disclosed from the Population Information System. It requires a threat to your health or another very serious reason.

You can also ban the disclosure of your contact details or opt out of direct marketing, which prevents your address from being given to private service providers, phone directories and direct marketers. Protected or restricted addresses are visible only to the authorities.
