Company search works like a search for a private person, but instead of a first and last name, you use the company name.
How the directory service works
Type the contact you're looking for in a text message, for example:
- Number search: NAME CITY
- Name search: PHONE NUMBER
- Address search: NAME or NUMBER
- Company search: COMPANY NAME
Send the message to 16500.
Price: €3.50 per search.
You'll get the result in a reply message. The reply shows how many results were found and which one you're viewing, e.g. 1/5.
If there's more than one match, text L to 16500 to get the next ones. Each additional search costs €3.50.
How do I recognize a suspicious phone number?
Many scams come from foreign country codes. If you're not expecting a call from abroad, it's best not to answer.
If the call came from within Finland, it's wise to identify the caller before deciding whether to call back. Text the unknown number to 16500 to quickly find out who called.
Is an unknown call a scam?
Be careful with all unknown calls, especially if there are children or elderly people around you. Always identify unknown callers first to check whether it's a scam or a genuine call.

Sales call or important call?
Sales calls usually come from shorter-than-normal service numbers, such as those starting with 02. However, they're easily confused with the customer service numbers of banks, authorities or companies, which is why it's important to check them.
Only answer calls from service numbers if you're expecting a call or recognize the number. Otherwise, identify the caller before answering or calling back. You can also opt out of direct marketing to reduce nuisance calls (e.g. via ASML, Telemarkkinointikielto or DVV).
